Ten new areas join the MEAM Approach network

October 02, 2024

Thanks to generous funding from The National Lottery Community Fund, we are delighted to welcome the following ten new areas into the MEAM Approach Network as part of the 2024 cohort.

  • Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole
  • Cumberland
  • Kent
  • Gloucestershire
  • Leeds
  • Lincolnshire
  • North Yorkshire
  • London Borough of Tower Hamlets
  • London Borough of Islington
  • Worcester City

The successful areas are all committed to transforming services and systems for people facing multiple disadvantage and take up their places in the network following a competitive expression of interest and assessment process.

These areas will receive dedicated support from our Partnership Development Manager, alongside access to a broad programme of MEAM Approach events, training and learning. They will also be invited to participate in the MEAM Approach online community platform to share stories, connect with the wider network and explore the shared challenges they experience in transforming local systems.

Each partnership brings a diverse range of systemic challenges that they will address in collaboration; the MEAM team look forward to the new learning that these areas will bring to the network.

Emerging themes so far include:

  • Women’s experiences of street-based sex work
  • Women and girls’ experiences of the criminal justice system
  • Intergenerational experiences of safeguarding within families
  • People with multiple experiences of rough sleeping

This brings the total number of MEAM Approach network areas to 50 and demonstrates the growing appetite for transforming services and systems for people experiencing multiple disadvantage across England.

If you are in one of the 50 MEAM Approach network areas, join us now on our Mighty Networks platform to access peer networking, learning and support.

If you are not currently in a MEAM Approach network area you can still join us as a MEAM Approach Supporter.  You will receive regular updates on our work and learning as well as discounts on our training and consultancy, and limited access to our online community platform.
