The London Borough of Newham joined the MEAM Approach Network in May 2020 and are working on using the MEAM approach to help design and deliver better coordinated services for people engaged with sex work and develop a better understanding of how this group of people experience multiple disadvantage and the impact of significant health inequalities. Newham recognise that previously the approach has been very enforcement based and look forward to building a support before enforcement response that is underpinned by a greater understanding of trauma and the need to be trauma informed.
