Resolving complex problems, growing cross-sector capability and developing systems that work
Our specialist systems support enables local areas to gain fresh perspectives on complex issues and implement practical solutions that improve how services work together.
We provide expert systems analysis, support and facilitation to organisations and partnerships, enabling them to reach their systems change goals. Our work focuses on complex challenges, typically in strategy, operations, commissioning and evaluation.
Our work is grounded in our MEAM Systems Intervention Tool, which combines recognised systems approaches and leading facilitation techniques into an accessible and effective framework. We will work with you, guided by this framework, to explore key challenges, implement practical solutions, and foster a culture of learning and curiosity among partners.
We also work to develop the systems change capability of individuals within the system, utilising one-to-one and team mentoring to create opportunities for learning, reflection and practice.
Typical outcomes from our work include:
- Clarity of purpose, direction and strategy across the partnership or organisation.
- New and effective organisational or collective capability for innovation, design and problem solving.
- A culture of collaboration, inclusion and inquisitiveness.
- A workforce which experiences professional development and greater wellbeing.
- Greater appreciation of complex issues, systemic barriers and unintended consequences.
- A resolution or improvement in complex or longstanding issues.
Some recent examples of our work include:
- Cambridgeshire and Peterborough – Developing a learning eco-system.
- Basingstoke and Deane – The Power of Collaboration.
- Camden and Hackney – Harnessing networks to grow capability (trauma-informed approaches and co-production).
- Westminster Changemakers – Place-based problem-solving with residents, council officers and the voluntary sector.
- Exeter and North Devon – Pathfinding and critical friend support.
