Training for Individuals

Our regular training courses are open to anyone working to improve services and systems for people facing multiple disadvantage.

These courses are suitable for organisations within and outside of the MEAM Approach network. We particularly welcome participants from across a wide range of sectors, including health, social care, substance misuse, housing, police, criminal justice and voluntary sectors, and are a great way to connect with and learn from other people working to support people facing multiple disadvantage.

These courses are perfect when you want to train one or two people, or book training for yourself. They are a great introduction to the MEAM approach framework for organisations outside of our network or to support the development of new team members within MEAM Approach partnerships.

To find out when courses are running and to book onto them, visit our events page.

All courses below are available to book for whole team training.

For any questions about which course is right for you, speak to our team on training@meam.org.uk.

Online Training

Understanding Multiple Disadvantage

This course is for anyone working with people facing multiple, overlapping challenges, such as homelessness, substance misuse, mental ill health and contact with the criminal justice system, and helps you understand these issues as a connected, systemic problem rather than separate ones.

Coproduction & Power

This course explores what coproduction really means in practice: sharing power, knowledge and expertise with everyone involved in a system, especially people with lived experience of multiple disadvantage. It will provide practical steps for putting people with lived experience at the centre of decision-making.

Trauma Informed Systems

This course explores trauma and its impact on people facing multiple disadvantage. It looks at how services can respond well and avoid re-traumatising people by using a system-wide, rather than individual, lens.

Strengths Based Systems

This course challenges services and systems that are designed around people’s problems rather than their strengths. It will help you reimagine a better, more proactive journey for people facing multiple disadvantage and provide practical steps to redesign your service.

In-Person Training

Exploring Systems Leadership – 2-day event

This 2-day immersive course will help you build your understanding of systems leadership, explore how change really happens in complex environments, and connect with peers who share your commitment to transforming local systems.
