We wrote to the Prime Minister today to congratulate him on his first full week in the new role and share a copy of our briefing – Foundations for Success.
We are delighted to see Labour’s commitments to end homelessness, take a whole government approach to mental health, relieve pressure on the criminal justice system, and halve violence against women and girls within a decade.
However, to fully achieve these commitments, Labour will need to consider and address the thread which connects them all – the experience of multiple disadvantage.
Labour has a long history of cross-departmental work to tackle multiple disadvantage, led by a clear political commitment from the centre. We will be working with the new government to help them build on this in the new administration.
We are also supporting #MEAMApproach areas to contact their new MPs across all parties to gain their support for local work on tackling multiple disadvantage. If you’re in the network you will have an email about that today.
