Apply to join the MEAM Approach network!

April 24, 2024

MEAM has opened an Expression of Interest process for local areas interested in joining the MEAM Approach network for 2024-2026. The deadline for applications is 10th June 2024.

The MEAM Approach is a non-prescriptive framework that supports local areas to transform services and systems for people experiencing multiple disadvantage. It focuses on creating long-term, sustainable change to the way that complex problems and systems are approached and understood through collaborative working across a local system. The MEAM Approach is currently being used by partnerships of statutory and voluntary agencies in 42 local areas across England.

Thanks to the generosity of The National Lottery Community Fund, MEAM are now seeking 10 new areas to join the MEAM Approach network with funding agreed for 2024 – 2026.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a motivated network of areas dedicated to tackling multiple disadvantage. New areas will benefit from a bespoke package of support alongside the experience and learning of established members. For full information on what membership provides, please download the EOI pack below.

MEAM will work with new areas to strengthen their local partnership, define a vision for change, and begin the process of generating new learning from the lived experience of those experiencing multiple disadvantage in their area. This provides the evidence and the impetus for systemic change across your area.

“The MEAM Approach has helped rally support amongst partners and offered opportunities for reflection, learning, testing and creating a sense of direction and momentum.”

You can learn more about the impact of MEAM support for areas in the support review for the period 2022 – 2024, and about the impact of using the MEAM Approach in the reports from our 5 year evaluation.

In recent years there has been an increased recognition of the need for collaborative working to change systems so that they work for the people they support. The MEAM Approach network is up for the challenge. If you would like to join this movement, we invite you to complete our Expression of Interest form with your local partners.
